I have been drawn to art my whole life. Since I was a child I have done commission artwork. The satisfaction of executing an image for someone, especially one who has the “idea in their head,” but lacks the experience to create it, is immeasurable. I went to college at Missouri State University to expand my understanding of art and to pursue a career in that field. I earned a BFA in Art and Design and then forged my own path, doing commission work, live paintings, murals and courtroom sketching. I took on any job that would help me understand the extent of my abilities. Tattooing became evident as a streamlined version of the cumulative skill set I had built, both in client relationships and artistic flexibility. Tattooing is a service I am privileged to provide. I am grateful to my mentor, Micaela, here at Stigma, for giving me the chance to pursue this discipline in a professional setting surrounded by passionate and knowledgeable artists. My preference of style is a neotradional cubist fusion. It incorporates my love for smooth gradient shading with abstracted depictions of popular themes in tattooing. Regardless of preference of style, my biggest asset has been my ability and willingness to collaborate with my clients, to achieve the concept of the image that each person has desired to have done. It is important to me to be able to maintain versatility; to do the standard portrait, to do the fine line script or to copy the paw print of a pet to be remembered. I have lived in Fayetteville and worked in Northwest Arkansas for fourteen years and counting. I share a home with my talented musician wife, Candy Lee, our two boys and two pet cats Sunny and Moony.
